La Befferie - Holiday Gite in Normandy

Our traditional half-timbered French Holiday cottage is set in an idyllic rural location, within easy reach of all the ferryports, two local airports (with low cost airline flights) and within an hour of the Normandy Landing Beaches - relax, unwind and get away from it all at La Befferie holiday gite.

La Befferie was renovated in 2007 to a high standard, with special care taken to choose furnishings that are both practical and comfortable for family life away from home. The house and garden are ideal for spending time indoors or outdoors, and there is nothing nicer than sitting in the hammock in the garden, watching the sun set over the valley, with steaks sizzling on the stone barbecue and a cold beer on the side.

For the cooler evenings, the relaxing sitting room is both cosy and comfortable, providing a wonderfully relaxing place to spend your evenings, with a glass of wine in front of the wood burning stove, watching satellite TV or playing one of the many games available.

The fully fitted kitchen and dining room is fitted with a range of appliances, including washing machine and dryer and a dishwasher.

3 En Suite bedrooms sleep 6-9

The 3 ensuite bedrooms provide a high level of comfort with pine furniture and cotton bed linen and all have exposed beams. There are lovely views over the orchard and valley and down to the stream from the bedrooms.

Dating back probably to the early 1700's, La Befferie is a traditional colombage or timber framed farmhouse which would originally have had a thatched roof. Our holiday gite at La Befferie was originally the farmhouse of an old cider farm at La Befferie, a tiny rural hamlet in the rural SouthernManche Department of Normandy, close to the Brittany border.

The cottage is situated in 5.5 acres of gently rolling farmland, surrounded by apple trees and pasture, with a beautiful view down the valley.

The garden for the holiday gite is fenced all round, with hardstanding for cars or bikes within the property, and is surrounded by our orchard, which is sometimes used by our neighbours' cow and calf, and further overlooks the meadow down to the trout stream at the bottom of the property.
